MachineMate
to OEM
e-Manufacturing
Networks (Spectrum Division)
Enterprise
Multi-DNC Software
Burlington, Canada – May
17,
2001 – e‑Manufacturing
Networks Inc. (CDNX: MFG) and
MachineMate, Inc. announced
today that MachineMate and e-MFG's
Spectrum CNC Technologies Division
have signed a OEM agreement
to place Spectrum's Enterprise
Multi-DNC software on Machine
Mate's machine controls. The
contract also includes marketing
Enterprise Multi-DNC software
to MachineMate's retrofit customers.
The
Enterprise Multi-DNC software
is used to communicate with
the CNC. Part programs
can be managed over the network
and data from the control can
be monitored and stored in an
SQL database. The data
contains information about productivity,
number of parts machines, utilization
and alarm conditions.
Using the Internet and a standard
browser, the reports can be
viewed from any secure connection
allowing managers to view their
shop data from anywhere.
Specific conditions, such as
an alarm, can even cause an
email or page to be sent, alerting
the manager of the condition.
Integrating
the software into MachineMate's
controls will allow the control
to communicate critical shop
floor information to the right
people wherever they happen
to be. This is part
of MachineMate's overall strategy
to provide a control which adheres
to open standards and is Internet
friendly.
Tom Gaasenbeek, Chief Executive
Officer of e-MFG, said
”MachineMate's unique open architecture
and Internet strategy fit perfectly
with e-MFG's goal to turn every
CNC into a node on the corporate
network. By providing
access to machine data over
the Internet, manager's will
have better control over their
most expensive assets."
Nyles Priest, President of MachineMate,
remarked "We believe Enterprise
Multi-DNC was the natural choice
for us. Our products are
designed to be powerful, open,
and easy to use and that meant
using Enterprise Multi-DNC and
Machine Event Monitoring from
e-MFG's Spectrum Division."
